FITNESS: BUILD A STRONGER + MORE STABLE CORE

Over all of my years as a personal trainer, the number one request I get is to showcase exercises that target abs. Even to this day, most people believe that doing crunches and sit-ups are the best exercises! There’s a better way and I’m here to share it with you.

If we exclude diet for a moment (remember, you can’t out train a bad diet), there are exercises that will activate your core on a much larger scale. The Single Arm Plank is great example because it forces you’re whole body to engage in order to stabilize. To put it simply, think of a table that is missing a leg, it becomes that much harder to keep the table from collapsing. Now, take this single arm plank and add a TRX or a set of olympic rings to the movement (see video below) and the stabilization intensifies. This means your core will activate on a higher level which in turn will build a stronger, more stable core. Give these variations a try and let me know what you think on my IG – joselopez_fit
